Welcome to Vortex Recupart. Here, I present my upcycled art sculptures from within my recycling laboratory, a world inhabited by imaginary creatures drawn from fantasy and science fiction. These sculptures and other robots, all rooted in reclaimed art, are created from recycled materials. Each piece is unique, entirely handmade through assemblage. As a Breton sculptor, I also take part in upcycled sculpture exhibitions across France and Europe.
How can worn, forgotten matter be brought back to life? How can we restore a soul to the objects we throw away?
This is one of the missions of upcycled art.
The constraints imposed by the salvaged shapes and materials I collect, assemble, and transform give rise to strange chimeras, to reclaimed-art characters that begin to tell new stories. These raw materials, found in our homes, in the streets, or out in nature, bear witness to our relentless consumption. I gather them, twist them, screw them together, assemble them, and ultimately recycle them into a new artistic universe for these discarded objects.
You will also find step-by-step examples of my upcycled art creations here, or in this blog post.
This science-fiction upcycled world, tinged with fantasy, tells of a realm populated by metallic remains, the relics of an age when the organic once reigned and gave birth to a synthetic world that swelled without limit. It echoes with the shrill whistle of a sterile wind passing through cables and metal parts.
These are statues driven by one final desire to live, the last, sometimes monstrous, scars of a humanity led astray by its own excess of pride.
Based in Brittany, Vortex Recupart is the artistic project of Adrien Vinet, an artist who creates sculptures and imaginary creatures from recycled materials. He offers exhibitions of recycled-material sculptures for media libraries, museums, universities, festivals, and cultural venues.
These exhibitions explore the transformation of matter, the power of imagination, and the connections between artistic creation and recycling.
